She spoke on the history of black women the struggles that, that section of society has had over the years she spoke of the mission of her group Mystical women and the partnership with women of other races and how that has propelled growth.

Talking points:
Education: Commented that there is some subjectivity with education so people have to take responsibility for their education

Diversion and colourism: This was a tough one to explain, it was done with passion and intentionality. It was probably the strongest presentation that we have heard to explain colourism within the black community and the impact it has on the opportunities of lighter vs darker skin people.

Multiculturalism – The speaker communicated  had an alternate view that was quite interesting her take was that multiculturalism creates a chasm of otherness where you identify with a country that you don’t know and you are the “other” in the country where you reside.

Health – the crisis of stress that faces Black women today

Beauty – The standards that make Black community try to identify to society standards that does not necessarily reflect the features of black people
Race based economics- What is that how does that propel anyone or businesses forward. Data is being collected however, there was some concern on how /where that information is being turned into action

Massive reaction to Tasha’s impassioned message.

Warren thanked Tasha for her presentation.
