Reclassification talk

 

Jim has been a member of the Rotary Club of Brampton for a very long time and he considers this Club the best service Club there is.  Jim is a business Lawyer, specializing in Corporate Commercial Law, Trusts, Estate Planning and Real Estate. He has two children, a son and a daughter and a beautiful 4-1/2 year old granddaughter.

 

Jim became interested in climate change in 2002 and wanted to share his views with the Club. About 17 years ago he discovered a blog called “Climate Change” and decided to look into how the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate scientists used statistics in their remodeling.  Jim is concerned that we have been bombarded with the potential effects of anthropogenic climate change. It apparently will cause warming, cooling, droughts, flooding, cholera but if the Alarmist view of science is wrong, what will be the effect on science as a whole? 

 

The loss of credibility would be catastrophic.  He is also concerned that as we get older, we think about your legacy and the world we’ll leave behind. The potential danger of anthropogenic global warming is certainly alarming but look at what is being proposed as a remedy. In Canada laws are being passed to tax everyone on almost everything we do. We’re a cold weather country and we have to heat our homes. We’re a large country and we have to travel. W are responsible for 1.6% of the CO2 emissions in the world. Is it really the right thing to do to reduce our economy by $100 billion per year, forego 20% of our exports and set laws in place that threaten serious regional strife in the country?

 

Also, do we have confidence that the climate experts really do have climate science correct? Do we want to trust our children’s future on that confidence?
