Roy Vinden introduced Dr. Anthony Hutchinson, the Executive Director of BNRC (Brampton Neighbourhood Resource Centre).  Dr. Hutchinson spoke glowingly of President Steve's and Frances' ("an angel"  !!!!) support of BNRC.

He described the structure and work of the organization, primarily providing family focused community programs for vulnerable, less fortunate, and/or new Canadian residents.  They are a United Way agency.

There are 15 sites across Brampton, they serve 85,000 people, there are 70 employees, and 100 volunteers.

One specific program that Dr. Hutchinson spoke of in some detail, also showing a video, was the YEAH (Youth Educating Against Hate) program, found on YouTube.  Youth participation in NBRC programs, including YEAH, has increased 130% over last year.

Finally, he performed a great song composed & written for performance at the United Way Gala.  Dr. Hutchinson performed the song very well, but it was interesting that the Club members singing along from the song sheet provided had difficulty with the Bridge/Chorus, even though it only consisted of repeating a single word.

After several questions, Peter Ward thanked the speaker.
