Incoming President Dittie Voegel introduced Karen Van Horne, who gave her classification talk.
Karen first volunteered at the Rib and Roll, soon after becoming a Rotarian. She was quick to fill in when asked to carry the banner in front of the float for the Santa Parade.
Karen came to Canada from Jamaica for her studies. She chose to study accounting and wrote her CA's. She used to drive from Pickering to Mississauga everyday for work. Every job and promotion she has attained, she believes is because of doing favours which were asked of her. Companies she has worked for include Clearnet, Leadcore, SNC Lavalin
Karen has been raising 5 children, the responsibility which she took over when her aunts passed away. She has one daughter of her own.
