Welcome Chief Jennifer Evans to the Rotary Club of Brampton. Chief Evans began her career with Peel Regional Police in 1983 when she joined as a cadet and since that time she progressed throughout the organization. Chief Evans’ knowledge and experience is recognized both provincially and nationally.
What is carding? Carding refers to the police practice of stopping people on the street and collecting information about them. Peel Regional Police is the only Police Department to put policies in place. They track violent crimes and crime rates. There are hotspots for street checks and violent crimes. 33% of crimes reported are by people near the airport. Contact carding connect police to people and location. Collection of I.D. info. means face to face interaction between a Police Officer and a person for the purpose of collecting or attempting to collect. The Peel Police Department have implemented new procedures in keeping with regulation, effecting April 20th and they are the first Police Service in Ontario to do this.
