The philosopher Seneca said, "Every new beginning comes from other beginnings' end". On July 8th, 2024, the Club celebrated endings, new beginnings and a new Rotary Year through our Changeover event. We had more than 20 members and 17 guests in attendance. Among our guest list, we were very pleased to host guests from the City of Brampton, Peel Crime Stoppers, the Brampton Board of Trade, and Toronto Metropolitan University as well as 7080 District Governor Sohail Naseer, District Governor Elect Susanne Zbinden and Past District Governor Kathi Dick.
We were thrilled to have a full house at our Club House!
President Badar gave his speech reflecting on his term. Congratulations to President Badar on all his accomplishments and successes over the last 12 months. We look forward to his guidance and mentorship as he moves into his Past President role. He then passed the baton to our incoming President Tim.
President Tim took a few minutes to share his thoughts and vision on his goals and objectives for the next 12 months.

On July 22nd, 2024, we were excited to have Steve Rutledge from the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise joining us. He shared some projects that were completed during the last year and shared his experiences with matching District Grants. He discussed the Laos Project and an exciting water filter project and told stories about the lives positively changed and impacted.
On July 15th, the RCB was pleased to welcome our newest member, Marlvis Nkechi Olubiyi, who has transferred from the Rotary Club of Jos-Nigeria District 9125. The "Welcoming" ceremony was led by District Governor Nominee, Uche Okugo.
Ruth Bowling and George Lewis from Sharing Smiles joined us virtually from Florida to present "Portraits for Cleft Surgeries".
On Monday July 29th, 2024, our two newest members, Pallavi Sathiskumar and Marlvis Olubiyi, gave their Classification Talks. It was great to learn more about Pallavi and Marlvis, their passions, interests and work.
Afterwards, Board of Director Rita Gayle received her director's pin from Past President Badar.
On August 12th, 2024, the RCB enjoyed fellowship over lunch and visited Caledon Abbeyfield to learn about this special non-profit housing model. Joe McReynolds and Brenda Elias gave us a tour of the home.
It is a beautiful building, inside and out!
We learned a lot about the Abbeyfield model of housing.
Charitable gaming centres across Ontario have contributed to the incredible milestone of $500 million to local charities this year. Our charity is proud to participate.
On August 19th, the Rotary Club of Brampton was excited to welcome Tim Muttoo from H2O4ALL. Tim discussed his Water and Sanitation projects.
Tim is a Canadian engineer, entrepreneur, and Co-founder of H2O4ALL, a not-for-profit charity focused on restoring water, hygiene, and sanitation in developing countries.
We also had a presentation from Adhay Kapila with the Brampton Christian School. Adhay shared his experience at the Adventures in Citizenship program in May 2024.
On Monday August 26th, 2024, the Rotary Club of Brampton was pleased to have Michael Vickers, Executive Director at the Brampton Arts Organization, as our guest speaker. Michael shared the programs, services and resources of the Brampton Arts Organization, which is a registered non-profit that champions Brampton’s diverse arts, culture and creative industries and advocates for Brampton artists.
The Rotary Club of Brampton meets Mondays from 12 noon to 1:30 pm EST and from 6 to 7:30 pm EST the first Monday of the month. We also have evening meetings for special events, so check our club calendar if you want to visit. Each week, we have exciting speakers on our agenda. We would love for you to come out and join us to get a taste of the Rotary experience.
