CHAR technologies
Andrew White

Andrew White, CEO of CHAR technologies was the guest speaker at Brampton Rotary,  tied with environmental sustainable solutions with Climate Change and his passion for new technology to assist in Green House Gas (GHS) emission reduction.

His Clean Tech Company started out when he was a student at the University of Toronto to become a Chemical Engineer where he patented a form of activated biochar, called SulfaChar™ that removes hydrogen sulfide from renewable natural gas (similar to the way a Brita® water filter removes contaminants from tap water) with the outcome being a product used for energy applications.

He then went on to get his Master’s in Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology.  Through funding grants and partnerships he has been able to build a publicly traded company in 11 years.  He has developed a cost effective and efficient alternative fuel, which can offer a solution to replace coal, thus reducing GHG.    CharTechnologies Ltd., his company,   is piloting a  project with ArcelorMittal Dofasco called CleanFyre, an energy fuel product for their blast furnaces.

Andrew White is a true leader in Canadian green innovation, receiving many awards for his work. A young mind, tied with creativity and entrepreneurship and is leveraging cutting-edge technology tied with Climate Change.   Congratulations and thank you.
