Peace Initiatives Presentation

On Monday June 2nd, 2025, President Rampriya Sriram of Rotary Bangalore Skyway, India, joined us virtually to share her club's peace projects. She described several initiatives including Peace Week at a local school and Peace Giftables. She explained the creative ways they are spreading peace such as the peace gifts, Peace Through Music, Model UN and Meditation for Peace. Her work was very inspiring.
Life Lessonz

On June 9th, 2025, we welcomed Patricia Digby, Executive Director for Life Lessonz. She described highlights with Life Lessonz this past year and shared some of their new initiatives. Patricia was presented with a cheque for $2,000.
Visit to Sheridan's Nursing Program

We recently created the Willard and Sandra Burton Bursary for one Sheridan College nursing student each academic year.  On June 16th, 2025, we had the pleasure of a Sheridan College campus visit where we hosted eleven Nigerian guests for an offsite visit. We were honoured to have Dr. Michael O'Leary, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies and Humberto Laranjohad, Interim Dean of the School of Nursing, give us a tour of the Nursing Program facilities.

It was very exciting to visit Sheridan while enjoying the Rotary Friendship Exchange with our guests. Friendship Exchange team leader DG Wole Kukoyi gave a presentation about the Rotary Friendship Exchange Program. Then, we had a tour of several simulation classroom spaces designed for the nursing students to develop their knowledge and skills. The high tech labs were very impressive. Overall, it was a fantastic meeting.

Cheque Presentations: Regeneration and Knights Table
In June 2025, we presented cheques to local food banks. On June 9th, Rotarian Sandra and Board Member Rita presented a cheque for $5000 to the Knights Table. On June 23rd, VP Suzanne presented a cheque for $750 for Regeneration Outreach Community to Central Peel Secondary School for their Grant Writing Initiative award. Knights Table and Regeneration provide essential food and support to individuals and families to help alleviate hunger and related challenges.

Rotary Rib'N'Roll Discussion

On June 23, 2025, we discussed our annual May fundraiser, Rotary Rib'N'Roll. Board Member and Past President Vanora and VP Suzanne gave a presentation on some highlights and numbers from the event and invited members to share their comments and thoughts. Some photos and videos were shared. There was a lot of involvement from members during this three-day event, with people on the planning committee, helping to set up, run the event and take it down. A HUGE thank you to everyone who pitched in!
Member Appreciation BBQ 2025 and Welcome to Chris-Beth

At the conclusion of our Rotary year, we held the annual Member Appreciation BBQ on June 30th 2025. It was a fun-filled evening. PDG Shehzad Ahmed from Lahore District, Pakistan, was our guest and he brought a beautiful Polio Drops Save Lives banner from Pakistan to show us. The image on the banner is of his grandson getting the vaccine.

We inducted new Rotary Club of Brampton member, Chris-Beth Cowie. We are thrilled to have her join our club. Club members got up out of their seats to play a game and there was some competition!  Director Rita and Past President Badar were the winners of the Bingo Game. They received lovely Canada Day t-shirts. Tim was the runner up with the Canadian Survival Kit prize. We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and great fellowship.
