Viktoria Houdekova (from Slovakia)
My Year in Canada
Viktoria will be here until July 25th. Thanks to the Mocon Family, the Franks Family for hosting her. Also thanks to Stu for taking her for a couple of weeks and Mary Anne for being the chair of Youth Exchange.

Viktoria came to Canada in August. Her first year in Canada was great. She went to the Blue Jays game, saw the CN Tower. In September she met another Youth Exchange student from Austria and became good friends. She went to a Rotary meeting in Burlington where she met Youth Exchange students and became good friends with them too. Her first meeting in Brampton was at the Santa Clause parade and it was great to be together. She also went with the Interact Club to help the homeless people in Toronto.

Viktoria went to Canada’s Wonderland and she really enjoyed it. Her first time in Niagara Falls was great. She also went to Camp Wanatika, did tobogganing and it was so much fun. She went to Muskoka for March Break. Viktoria participated in a fundraiser in Mississauga where she went without food for 24 hours.
Viktoria celebrated celebrated her 18th birthday. Her teacher ordered a cake for her. She went to dinner at the CN Tower with her parents who were visiting from Slovakia.

John Lomax thanked Viltoria for sharing her year with Rotary members and expressed the fact that Viktoria is a very strong Youth Exchange student and throughout her year she was absolutely amazing.
