World Leprosy Day

January 25 is the  day when churches and groups around the world raises funds for the cure of leprosy.  This is done by collecting cash donations- or used postage stamps (in Canada).   The leprosy bacterium is found predominately in four countries, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa - the same countries as polio.   Infection occurs from transmission through coughing from an infected person - so curing those who are infected can result in eradication of this disease.   It costs $350 to cure one person from this disease - and transform their life and their family.  Please bring me your used postage stamps - I will send them to the Leprosy Mission Canada.  Sale of these stamps to a bulk dealer raises about $10,000 per year.
