There was no speaker last week, but facilitator Jim Inglis asked all members present to think about 'Importance of being a ROTARIAN?'

He asked members why Rotary was important to them. Here are some of the answers.

Some of the many benefits and reasons that members shared were:

Giving back to the community
Fellowship
Efficient fundraising
Sharing expertise
Professionalism
International involvement and projects
Bingo and bingo hall ownership raising $3-4 million for the community
Youth Exchange
Networking

Most members have been involved with the club's annual fund raisers such as:

Rib and Roll - May 26,27 this year
Easter seals campaign
Thunder Run, this year scheduled for August
Christmas BBQ
The 'Dreams take Flight' program scheduled for May 10th.

Gerry shared with us the amazing contribution, coordination and effort that hundreds of volunteers contributed from many organizations like Rotary to make this a successful and fun time for up to 300 underprivileged kids every year to visit Disney world in Florida. She also noted the involvement of our club and the honour of our club selecting one of our own members as an escort and she is the 'chosen one' this year.
