Fostering and developing  volunteerism
 
Welcome to Sharon Clark-Koufis, communications and membership manager of the volunteer MBC (Mississauga/Brampton/Caledon).
 
The Rotary Club of Brampton is a member of Volunteer MBC which means that if the Rotary require volunteer placement we can have a direct connection to volunteers within the Region of Peel and gain access to all of the benefits of membership.
 
 
Who is Volunteer MBC? Volunteer centres exist primarily to foster and develop volunteerism in the community as a whole. In the beginning, September 2008, Volunteer MBC was born and was located near the airport. In April 2011, they moved to Brampton and February 2012 they expanded back to Mississauga. There are 25 volunteer centres in Ontario and 200 volunteer centres in Canada. Their mission is to promote and support volunteerism in an effort to connect all people.
 
Volunteer MBC need a strong voice to support and promote volunteers. How do they do this? By
-    presentations
-    attendance at fairs
-    social media
-    e-communication
-    media releases
 
Volunteer MBC a registered charity and can offer taxable receipts for donations. VOLUNTEER MBC

Our Rotary Club is now a member of Volunteer  MBC (MississaugaBramptonCaledon).  This allows us to list volunteer opportunities in our club and recruit candidates.  Sandra Burton is the official Volunteer Coordinator. If you wish to list a volunteer opportunity, please speak to Sandra.
 
Our membership also allows us to attend training events.  The next workshop is on Understanding & Development Leadership Skills, offered on Thursday March 26 form 9 to noon at the Community Door, 7750 Hurontario Street.  A HR coach, Glenn Christie, will be the presenter.  If you wish to attend you can speak to Sandra or register on line.   www.volunteermbc.com  The cost to members is $35.  Handouts and refreshments included.
