VISIONING UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Visioning Club Assembly on March 18th.
This meeting session reflected on the wisdom of an in-depth visioning process conducted between 2006-10, with contributions from many members. In our next program year, we will take this forward, with additional feedback from a recent membership survey. Our membership in attendance confirmed continuing our focus on children and youth.

This focus is evidenced in all aspects of our club’s activities, from our commitment to International youth exchange, Rotaract and Interact Clubs, sponsorship of bursaries at local high schools and significant contributions to Polio eradication – a child-centered RI initiative. Our club has a long history of serving children and youth and continues through sponsorship of Kerry’s Place for autistic children. Our annual float and sponsorship of the Brampton Santa Claus Parade brings joy to children (and parents/grandparents). This strong commitment to children and youth will continue forward, but not necessarily exclude other identified needs.
In advance of the 2013-4 program year, a short-term Strategic Action Planning Team (SAPT) will report back to the President-Elect on initiatives to continue our tradition of service to children, while finding new opportunities to partner with community organizations. The three areas are: Community – chaired by Dittie Voegle; International – chaired by Badar Shamim, and Public Relations – chaired by Tim Lockhart. Expect a call – they will be asking for input. Other projects are under review by current committees and recommendations are expected soon. In the meantime, we will continue to work hard to ensure the plans in place for 2012-3 are fully realized. In particular, our Rib n Roll extravaganza will once again allow us to contribute significantly to Brampton and engage all our members in this major community event.
