Bob is married to wife Lynn and they have two children, Nicolas 19 and Amy 18. Bob worked for the City of Brampton for 32 years, beginning his career in 1973 as an arena operator, graduating to Facility Manager and then Superintendant of Facilities and Programs. In 1984 Bob was selected as the first Director of Business/Economic Development for the City, a position that he held until he became Commissioner of Community Services in 1995.
Bob has been a coach for minor baseball, hockey and soccer, was a founding member of the Brampton Board of Trade's Santa Clause Parade, Director on the Ontario Economic Development Council, Director of Junior Achievement (Peel), Director on the Brampton Board of Trade, member of the founding committee and now a Director of the Brampton Community Foundation.
Bob's career provided him with experience in community group organization and management, community strategic planning, project and special event planning/execution and operation management of community facilities and programs. Outside of work, Bob is an amateur contractor, electrician, plumber and handyman.
Bob enjoys golf in the summer and skiing/snowshowing in the winter.
Liane Fernandes proposed by Rotarian John Sanderson She is a Corporate Planner, William Osler Health Centre.
Liane started her career at Peel Memorial Hospital working as a clinical physiotherapist from 1993-2000. With the amalgamation of Etobicoke General, Peel Memorial and Georgetown District hospitals, she took on the role of Professional Leader of Physiotherapy Services for the William Osler Health Centre.
She was seconded to the Redevelopment team for Brampton Civic Hospital in 2005, focusing on operations and equipment for the new hospital site. Liane assumed the role of Corporate Planner in March 2006, working with the CEO and Executive team to ensure we achieve our corporate strategic goals and best meet the needs of our communities.
She is active in hospital (community) initiatives such as the Brampton Heart Walk, Brampton Run for Health, McHappy Day, Santa Claus Parade, Dragon Boat team (Captain) She is also active in various community fundraising events, including the MS SuperCities walk, Breast Cancer fundraising events, Professor's Lake community functions.
Liane is also active in the church community of St. Marguerite d'Youville parish, organizing walk-a-thons, dances and various other community social events -active on parent school council and City Councillor community meetings. She has received a 5 year Volunteer award from the Ontario government for community involvement
Liane has lived in Brampton for 27 years, is an alumnus of St. Jean Brebeuf elementary school and St. Thomas Aquinas high school. She graduated with honours from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1993 She is married and the mother of three beautiful children, Rachel (10), Olivia (8) and Daniel (3) Classification: Corporate Planner.
