Thunder Run Chair Daisy Oliver is looking for volunteers to help with this Saturday's Thunder Run, a major event for our club. The Annual Thunder Run is held at Chinguacousy Park and volunteers are need throughout the day beginning at 7 a.m. and concluding around 3 p.m.
This year's event is a Poker Run. Riders participate in a two hour ride through Peel Region, collecting playing cards and the best poker hand wins a $1,000 cash prize. All net proceeds from the event go to support Easter Seals children.
"We raised $35,000 last year and we hope to be able to exceed that number this year," says Daisy Oliver, chair of the event.
The entry fee is $25 for riders and $10 for passengers and it includes a complimentary breakfast courtesy of Carl's Catering. Registration is between 8 and Saturday morning. Participants can also raise pledges to support Easter Seals and pledge forms are available at www.bramptonrotary.com Door prizes are available for riders and for every $50 in pledges they get an additional chance to win. There is also a 50/50 draw. Mid-day a barbecue is planned and at 2 p.m. a People's Choice Show and Shine gets underway.
To volunteer contact Daisy Oliver daisyoliver@rogers.com or call 905 459 7878.
