Thunder Run is coming

On July 5th 500 motorcycles will be driving the streets of Brampton to help raise money for Easter Seals kids.
The 5th Annual Thunder Run at Chinguacousy Park promises to be a great day of activities for the whole family. Co-chairs Daisy Oliver and Paul Chisholm expect this will be the best year ever.
Thunder Run 2003 is a motorcycle ride for Easter Seal kids, but in recent years it has become a full day of activity at the Park.
This year, in addition to the ride, we have an antique/classic, modified and British cars on site. We will have a competition for the best cars and bikes of the show called Show and Shine. The OPP's Golden Helmet Precision Team will put on a demonstration and the world champion Peel Police tug-of-war team will compete. Peel Police will demonstrate how police dogs are used in solving crimes and Brampton firefighters will conduct an extraction demonstration. And there will be lots of vendors.
For the kids, there will be a Siberian Tiger on site, helicopter rides and a kid's picnic.
A free pancake breakfast is available for registered riders and their passengers between 8 and 10 a.m.. There will also be a barbecue and beer garden on site throughout the day.
Rounding out a full day of activity is a Perch Fish Fry at the Chinguacousy Curling Club at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person and are available by calling 905 451 8933.
The motorcycle ride is a culmination of work by the Rotary Club and two motorcycling touring clubs The Mississauga Wings, a branch of the Gold Wing Touring Association and the Big Smoke Riders of Toronto.
These two groups are a tremendous support and have contributed significantly to the success of this event. They not only help with the organization of the ride, they promote it all year long and most importantly they bring riders to raise money for Easter Seals.
Registration for the ride begins and 9 a.m., and the tour starts at 10 a.m.. Pledge sheets are available at www.bramptonrotary.com . The route is also available on the website.
