Jennifer Brousseau – Imagination Collective – Experience of a Lifetime

Jennifer Brousseau is a part of a Vancouver Rotary Club. Robert Simpson, a past member of the Rotary Club of Brampton introduced Jennifer to the club. Bob is the President and CEO of HopeLink International and was Jennifer’s mentor. He met Jennifer 20 years ago at his Youth Mentorship Camp on Northern Ontario Remote Reserves.

This camp was for youth 15-30 with leadership expertise and a passion to change the world and Jennifer was an ideal candidate. Bob told her that he saw her one day working with young people. She didn’t know anything about her culture. She was raised non-indigenous. She was the first recruit, she worked with Bob for three years and toured for six years with a play called “Beneath the Surface”. This play is about the challenges that indigenous people are facing. The cast is made up of all indigenous people. Their vision is to bring healing and restoration to the indigenous and the community. It is exciting for Jennifer to come to Ontario which is home and as she brings this healing and restoration, the doors will begin to open.
