Carole Berry introduced Kricia Cavalcanti, exchange student from Amazon, Brazil.
Kricia lives in a small village in the middle of the forest. Her village is called Pitinga. There are lots of snakes on the roads and they are not allowed to have pets in her city as they could attract cheetahs, which are very dangerous.

There are three types of schools, private, public and government. There are about 400 students with one teacher.
Kricia is the first exchange student from the Amazon. Her Rotary District is Nortrex District 4500. Three districts get together to make the exchange program stronger.
Kricia gave a bit of history on Brazil, population 190,000,000, the only country in North America that speaks Portuguese. Brazil is a multi-cultural country and has some of the best soccer players in the world. The summers are very hot, and could go up as high as 52 degrees Celsius. The Brazilians love to celebrate.
