Sandra Burton, Classification Talk

It is clear that Sandra cherishes family, as she described her early family life, moving from Calgary, Alberta to various locations in Ontario and finally moving to Brampton with Willard.  Sandra was educated in Toronto and Newmarket and attended Willis Business College in Ottawa. 

Sandra's career was mainly focused in the insurance industry, holding a variety of positions.  Sandra's sister Gaye (I hope I spelled that correctly) was the person who introduced Sandra to Willard, of whom she remarked she was blessed and that Willard gave her a sense of family that is so clearly important to her.  Sandra and Willard were married on November 8, 1997. 

Together, Sandra and Willard enjoy theatre, music, their faith and travelling to their time share in Orlando, Florida, to Vermont, Hawaii, the Canadian Rockies, Newfoundland, Halifax, Cape Breton and Arizona.  This year they plan on visiting Israel and Jordan. 

Currently Sandra assists Willard at the coin shop, B&W Coins and Tokens and travels to the east end of Toronto to visit her ailing mom.  Sandra has a long-standing family history in Rotary with her Aunt Mary and Uncle Bill being the recipients of a total of six Paul Harris awards. 

In closing Sandra commented that she was struck by the friendliness of our club, our dedication to serve, the Children's Christmas party and Rib 'n' Roll, that she was inspired by our fine work, that she felt it was an honour and a privilege to be a member.  It is indeed an honour and a privilege to have Sandra as a member of our club.
