Rotary Youth Programs thriving in Brampton

Rotary Youth Programs require 3 elements for success. The 1^st is a given, we need and we have young persons with a spirit of adventure and a commitment to making the world a better place.

#2 is a passionate Rotarian who wants and needs to work with these young people.

But without #3 the program will collapse. It is absolutely essential that we have a committed and dedicated teacher or counselor to support our programs in the schools. On October 3^rd, 15 guests from Brampton Secondary Schools and 4 visiting Rotarians, including the Presidents of Brampton-south and Brampton-Heart Lake, listened to John Lomax speak of our Youth Programs. He was assisted by Sandia and Courtney who were sponsored by our Club to France and Brazil for the 2004/2005 Exchange year.

John spoke of Interact and Rotaract but he concentrated on Youth Exchange; the selection process for next summer is just beginning. On Monday, October 17^th there will be an information meeting at The Glen for prospective Exchange Students and their parents. On October 26^th a combined committee of Brampton Rotary Clubs will meet to select the Outbound students.
