Smart Serve Training April 22

The Annual Rotary Rib’n Roll is scheduled for Friday May 26, Saturday May 27 & Sunday May 28 at Gage Park in downtown Brampton.

In order to run a successful 3 day fundraising event requires a lot of commitment from many people. Rotarians, their families, supporters of Rotary and numerous volunteers.

Last year the City of Brampton adopted a formal Municipal Alcohol Policy (MAP) for event organizers. Holding an event in the City of Brampton is a huge responsibility and as the Event Organizer of an alcohol-related event, the Liquor Licence Act of Ontario makes Rotary accountable for the actions of all attendees and our Event Workers.  It is Rotary’s responsibility to ensure the safety of all our guests and that our volunteers are Smart Served trained!

Therefore, Rotary is offering all interested volunteers the Smart Serve training for FREE. The Smart Serve certificate has no expiry date and is valid at all events where alcohol is served and that you may be a volunteer or employed at.

We have scheduled a training date with the Carabram volunteers for Saturday April 22 at the Unifor building located at 23 Regan Rd #1, Brampton, ON L7A 1B2, Phone(905) 451-8310.

If you are interested please send Jerome your full name, contact information such as your email address, telephone and we will add you to the list. A response is required by April 4.

I have attached a link to the Smart Serve website for additional information as well as the City of Brampton’s MAP brochure.   https://www.smartserve.ca/

In the meantime, please contact Jerome (416-573-1315 or jkdawson@sympatico.ca) if you should have any questions.

Thank you for taking time to consider our Rotary request. Your volunteer efforts and future contributions are greatly appreciated.
