At our meeting Monday, August 17, 2026, members enjoyed two presentations highlighting the wonderful experiences and friendships created through Rotary Friendship Exchange.
Nigeria Friendship Exchange
The Nigerian Friendship Exchange took place from April 30 to May 12, 2026. Throughout the visit the Canadian team experienced the warmth, kindness and generous hospitality of Nigerian Rotarians who proudly shared their culture and communities with their Canadian guests.
Among the many memorable experiences, the team participated in a polio Immunization initiative, visited schools and communities and attended District 9111 Conference.
The Canadians arrived in Nigeria as visitors, were welcomed as family and left as friends.

Taiwan Friendship Exchange
The presentation on Taiwan showcased a beautiful country and it's warm and welcoming people. In conjunction with the Rotary International Convention, held June 13 - 17, 2026, Canadian Rotarians had the opportunity to participate in pre and post Convention Friendship Exchanges.
They experienced Taiwanese culture first hand, enjoyed a wonderful variety of foods and were warmly welcomed into the homes of Taiwanese Rotarians. The experience provided a wonderful opportunity to build friendships while learning more about the country, its people and traditions.
Those who attended these Rotary Friendship Exchange were interested in participating in another Exchange. Noma Vales, Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee Chair for District 7080, shared upcoming opportunities to join an Exchange. She highlighted visits to Mexico and Brazil.
Cheque Presentation
On August 17th, we also had a cheque presentation to the Brampton Ontario Speed Skaters (BOSS) to support their low income skaters and equipment needs. Paul Schenk, Manager, Commercial Planning & Activation for Greater Toronto Airport Authority, came to the club to accept the cheque on behalf of the BOSS Board of Directors.
