Rib 'n' Roll luncheon
Michelle outlined that many Clinical Trials are prominent in the Region of Peel revolving around trying to find a cure. The support from Rotary is directed into areas of providing Services and Support to Patients and Families, Family Assistance Programs, Breast Cancer Support Groups, Outreach programs to name a few.
To date the Rotary Club of Brampton has directed approximately $100,000 to The Canadian Cancer Society raised from the Rib 'n' Roll which started in 1998. The event originally began as the Bladeathon. Presentations of Plaques were made to President Sheila and Rob in order to recognize the Club Support.
Rob followed by outlining that the event would not be made possible without the generous support of sponsors. They are the key to the success of the event. Notably - Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust, Investors Group, Cool Beer providing , Justine Blainey Wellness Centre, Brampton Guardian, The Marketing PAD, Rogers Cable TV, the City of Brampton and Lawrences. He also thanked Accurate Accounting Services, Coldwell Banker Innovators, Canadian Auto Workers, Goodison Insurance and Financial Services Ltd., GMF Transport Ltd., JWS/Miller Waste, Meri Mac, Rutherford Collision Centre and Winsor Interiors.
Rob commended the team of volunteers over the years for their help and noted that this year is off to a good start.
Rob's contribution/leadership to the event was recognized by the members as his involvement has spanned the history of the event. Many thanks to Rob!!
