Remembrance Day

 

Today we celebrate Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Veterans know the price paid for freedom; the appreciation of the values they fought for will live in all Canadians.

 

Our guests for this celebration were George (Popsy) Burrows and William (Bill) Burrell. Both men attended Public School together, live life to the fullest and are long-time Brampton residents. They received 50 and 75 yr. War medals and are committed to supporting Remembrance Day Ceremonies. They have visited over 30 schools to talk about war times and also entertain residents at Tullamore Nursing Home.

 

Bill was the Chair of Legion Poppy Fund for over ten years and is a perfect example of selfless services that Canadians are known for.

 

Both men received the Paul Harris Awards earlier this year.
