Reaching out to the community
Eid-Al-Fitr (Feast of breaking the fast) is a 14 centuries old tradition amongst the world's Muslim population. Month of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar is followed by the this celebration. The event itself is seen as a Thanksgiving after a month of fasting and is commonly used as an opportunity for families and friends to get together and celebrate by having meals at each others homes and to thank God for His blessings.
Members of local Pakistani community have decided to use this year's Eid-Al-Fitr as an opportunity to reach out to the community at large and to invite friends from non Pakistani/Muslim backgrounds to come out and join the community members for Eid celebrations. Event itself will include meeting and greeting each other and enjoying a meal together.
