District Governor Shehzad Ahmad from District 3272 (Pakistan & Afghanistan) along with local Rotarians and Rotaract members from Pakistan, joined the event via Skype.  DG Shehzad Ahmad provided background to 190 plus Rotary International clubs across Pakistan with an update of their efforts around flood relief in Pakistan.  
 
The event, organized by Rotarian Badar Shamim,  was widely supported by all segments of the Brampton and surrounding community with local community members, local Rotarians, Rotaract club members, and city councilor John Sprovieri, Vice Council Imran Ali from the Pakistani Consulate in Toronto, as well as Federal MP Jim Karagiannis from Scarborough Agincourt.
 
The event raised $10,000 for emergency relief efforts being carried out by local Rotarians in Pakistan, and the  Rotary Club of Brampton donated another $5,000 towards Rotary International Foundation for long term structural development in Pakistan.
