Raising money for change
Movember wants to be known not for raising money for cancer but for changing the face of men’s health. In Canada they raised over $29 Million last year and $29 million again for 2013. This year was the Movembers 7th year in raising awareness and funds with 173,000 Canadians participating, including 17 Brampton Motarians.
So far raised over 450 Million to help fight Prostate &Testicular cancers and mental Health. Canada ranks # 1 in funds raised globally and on a per capita basis. Quotes “I plan on doing this until I’m in the ground” and “I’ll do this until my upper lip falls off”
Rotary across Canada raised $10,609, with the Rotary Club of Brampton placing #1 out of Rotary clubs of Canada raising $3,896. Top Motarian fundraisers were Bino Dali, Pierre Beaumier, Peter Ward, Chris Markou, Mathew Samatas, Williard Burton, and Ken Spreen.
