MAKE HISTORY
The Rotary Club of Brampton raised a total of $1,378 from outreach activities at Brampton events.  This included the Wm. Osler Foundation EID Luncheon, YMCA Diwali Festival and the Brampton City Hall World Polio Day  event with the other four Rotary Clubs in Brampton.   These donations will be topped up and $3,000 will now be sent to the Rotary Foundation.

Bringing our informative display and Rotarians to these events, along with the Canada Pavilion at Carabram, raised significant awareness that immunization must continue to ensure eradication of polio.  Reported cases of wild polio remain at 8 this year, with Pakistan and Afghanistan still vulnerable.
However, it is important to remember that immunization must be continued to maintain our success.   Two NID event (National Immunization Day) will be held in early 2018 through District 7080.  Norm Bindon and Badar Shamim will participate in aNID in Pakistan.  Another group is returning to Mexico.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our efforts  – by donating, by collecting donations from colleagues and clients, staffing our display – and wearing the End Polio Now pin.   We look forward to the announcement that we have indeed eradicated polio – and will “make history”.
