Badar introduced Roman Boychuk and Julia Marshall of the Peel Children's
Centre. Roman is on the Board of Directors for the Peel Children's
Centre and explained that the Board is under represented in terms of
Brampton and Caledon.
An outreach program has been launched for business leaders, community leaders or anyone who has community leadership skills, please contact the Board. The majority of funding comes from the Government. An information session will be held June 10th at 6 p.m. at PCC office for anyone who is interested.

Julia Marshall provided some information on what Peel Children's Centre really does. They provide mental health services to children up to age 18.
PCC was established in 1985. It's a not-for-profit organization that services more than 3500 people per year. Office is located at Highway 10 and Derry Rd. and families can come to the office if necessary.
They deal with issues such as self-harm or thought of harming other people. They provide two different services, counseling sessions and more intense services relating to mental health issues. They also provide 7-17 sexual abuse program, group services, intense in-home program, and arson prevention program for children. Crisis response service is available 24/7.
Other issues they deal with on a regular basis are:
Parent/child conflict, sibling conflict
Risk behaviors
School-related issues, school avoidance
Depression, anxiety
Drug and alcohol problems
Involvement in criminal activity
