Frances introduced Tanya Godson, Director of Resource Development at Our Place Peel as our guest speaker.
Our Place Peel - started in 1985 with a six-bed facility and in 1989 opened an emergency shelter with 12 beds, which is now 14 beds. This program is for kids age 16 - 21 male and female distressed youth.

One of the most common situations is when teens don't believe they fit into a new family when their parent remarries.
Some Kids receive a $500 per month payment from the provincial government.
In 2007 - Started HYPE Program - Helping Youth Prepare Effectively. This program focuses on the cause and not the symptoms of the issues. Some youth revisit Our place Peel three to five times
There were more than 600 Youth helped last year alone.
