Joti Bhinder has earned an internship at the United Nations and our club's partial sponsorship helped to pave the way. Our club supported a four week study period at the University of Bonn, part of Joti's Master's studies in international relations.
Joti was accepted for a four-week program to foster better relations between North America and Easter Europe, part of the Trans Atlantic Summer Academy at the University of Bonn.

In four weeks, Joti visited four countries, participated in five excursions to nine cities, involving 43 lectures.

The relationship between NATO and the emerging European Union were topical during her visit. NATO, she says, is becoming less military and more political. The European Union, she believes, will survive, despite the recent rejection of its constitution. She says there is a disconnect with the young people in Europe and certainly lots of confusion among the common people.

She says it was a great learning experience. Joti will complete her internship with the UN and then pursue a PHD in International Security.
