Debbie introduced Ashley Cyr, a Certified Personal Trainer from the YMCA.  Ashley enjoys her job and loves to see positive results in her clients.
Ashley spoke of some health facts, in 2004 23.1% of Canadians were chronically obese; a normal body mass index is between 18.5% and 24.9%.  40% or higher is high risk and could contribute to one becoming chronically ill.  Waist circumference of a female should not be more than 35" and for a male 40".  Chronic diseases can be classified as cardiovascular heart disease, respiratory disease, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, etc.

Healthy eating consists of fats 20-35%, carbohydrates 45-65% and protein 10-35%. Some strategies for dealing with trigger cravings is to delay, substitute and avoid.

Ashley got all members to participate in a series of exercises that everyone should try to do on a daily basis.

Mary-anne Tate thanked Ashley for a very informative and educational talk.
