New members inducted

At our last meeting three new members were inducted into the club with District Governor John Stairs in attendance. Khaled Iwamura, Faisal Rasheed and Roy Vinden have joined the fraternity of Rotary. What follows is a short profile of each of the new members.
Khaled said he joined "because my business is located in Brampton and the community has been good to me and my business so now it's time for me to be good to the community."

Khaled is partner and art director for KRi Studios and MarketingKit.ca.
Khaled says "KRI Studios is an all-encompassing design firm offering marketing and design solutions. Khaled says his job is to oversee the entire operation for both companies. What does he like best about his work? "I don't consider it work, I enjoy the tasks it takes to run the business."
Khaled has experience as a freelance graphic and web designer and worked as marketing manager at Eland Logistics before setting up his own business.
In his spare time he works out stress as a member of Yakudo, a traditional Japanese drumming group. You can learn more about Yakudo by visiting www.yakudo.com. He also plays organized hockey in Brampton and enjoys watching movies with his fiance Audrey.
His favorite book is "anything by John Grisham" and movie "The Shawshank Redemption" Music "depends on my mood".

Faisal says of Rotary, "I want to be part of an organization that is making a difference. It's a way for me to contribute and give something back to better our society. It's also a great way for me to make friends and extend my international family."
Faisal is founder and CEO of WestPalm Media Inc..He says WestPalm is "a full-service brand communications company that specializes in Mobile Media. We roll-out our clients' messages across Canada using a fleet of 24-foot straight trucks, as well as on the GO Trains here in Toronto."
WestPalm media was established in 2001 and works with clients including Universal Studios and Warner Bros.
What does Faisal like best about his job: "When it comes to outdoor media, our clients' objective is to generate high impression levels and to achieve top-of-mind recognition with their marketing initiatives. When I am sitting in traffic, and I see one of our GO Train wraps or our truckside advertising, I know that I am providing a service that helps them target their goals. I also like it because it's a very creative industry, and I have the pleasure of meeting new people all of the time."
In his free time Faisal enjoys scuba diving, deep sea fishing, golf and video games.
He is married to Christi Lyle-Rasheed.
His favorite book is The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein; movie is The Princess Bride and he enjoys mixed and alternative music.

Roy joined Rotary because "I would like to put something back into the community (World) we live in."
Roy is Fleet Manager (Sales & Leasing) with Colony Ford Lincoln Sales Inc. He says Colony "is a Ford Lincoln franchise offering Leasing, Sales, Service, Parts and a Collision Repair Center, allowing you to get it all under one roof. Serving the community since 1968. Specifically designed to meet transportation needs of small and medium business, from one to 500 units."
Roy says his role is to "provide an exclusive single point of contact, someone who is responsible for learning about you or your business and looking after all your transportation needs."
What does he like best about his job -"Colony is like working with a family -dealing with different individuals everyday all with their own requirements."
Roy's 40 year work career includes time as a grocery clerk, sales & leasing representative, rental, leasing, new car, general and fleet manager. And he says "somewhere along the way I ran my own consulting business for nine years."
In his free time he enjoys snowmobiling and hot tubing, with, he adds, fine wine, great beer and great friends, and spending time with his family.
His favorite book he says "see movies" and his favorite movies "I watch the best and the worst of any movie". In music he is a follower of Elvis, The Stones, Beatles, Doors, Eagles and the country genre.
Roy is married to Sheila and has two children Melissa, 26 and Chad, 22.
