Nearly 45,000 people in Canada die each year from a lung related disease, Sheila Easton, community project assistant for The Lung Association told our club on Monday.
The Lung Associaton offers four programs for Peel residents. Get on Track is a non-smoking support program. Lungs for Life is a program aimed at school-age children Kindergarten to Grade 10. Asthma Action is a phone-in line for information. And Breathworks supports people with Chronic Obstructive Pulminary Disease.
Breathworks is designed to help prevent progression and relieve symptoms, Sheila said.
