Our own Past President Jerome Dawson introduced Adele Kostiak, the CEO of the Brampton Library and Jerome's boss. We are fortunate that Adele brought to  Brampton her considerable experience, thus permitting the Library Services of Brampton to improve even more.

Since her last visit in 2002, shortly after she took the position, she has implemented and completed the 2002 to 2005 Strategic Plan. She reviewed the accomplishments, which included increased participatiuon between various organizations, stabilizing and application of new technology, a 33 per cent increase in collections and revenues of $1.4 million over four years from various streams including fundraising and grants.

Adele introduced the Connecting the Community project for 2006-08. She disclosed some of the plans for increased customer services, new facilities and expanding partnerships. These goals are essentially an action plan to play catch-up since our community is growing at an incredible rate.

It was disclosed that Bob Bell's application for a library card is still under review. Jim Inglis, who never cleans out his wallet, was asked if he would turn in his single-digit numbered library card from his childhood.

Adele was thanked by Khaled and received the much sought after Rotary Speaker's gift.
