Keep the stamps coming
Cash realized from the sale of used postage stamps provides for treatment of leprosy patients through the Leprosy Mission. Thank you to all who bring these stamps to me.There are some good news stories – to balance the unfortunate statistic that 230,000 new cases are identified each year. The most recent invention is a “Smart Glove” developed by researchers at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. The stretchable gloves uses a revolutionary fabric with built-in nanosensors. This provides an artificial sense of touch which picks up factors such as roughness, temperature, pressure and humidity. This helps to prevent injuries to patients’ hands as a result of nerve damage and sensory loss. Modern technology addressing an ancient disease. Keep the stamps coming – I collect all year round.
