James Boyd - Brampton Area and Community Foundation

Peter Ward introduced Jim Boyd who is the Executive Director of the Brampton Area and Community
Foundation.

Jim thanked the Rotary for having him back, first speech was 7 years ago at the Rotary. Rotary holds a
special place to him personally as well as the BACF. Jim gave an update of the financial makeup of BACF
and indicated that Bob Bell and Rotary Club made it possible for their success.

 The mission of the BACF is to enrich the long term quality of life in Brampton and its surrounding
communities by:

  • attracting and effectively growing endowment funds through helping donors fulfill their philanthropic interests
  • Providing leadership in identifying and addressing significant community charitable priorities.
BACF is one of over 175 foundations across Canada with assets of over $2 billion.

For the future, BACF will continue to build their portfolio with sound management and their long term
strategy is for perpetual sustainability with a stable, conservative portfolio.

On October 13th BACF will have their Opal Dinner, $75 per person. Come out and get a sense of
philanthropy and sponsorship opportunities within the community.
