High school students from the Nuxalt First Nation, BC will arrive in Brampton on Sunday January. 27.  These 15 students, along with their peer exchanges from Central Peel SS will join Rotarians for lunch on January 28 at our regular lunch.  Exchange organizer, Heather McPhail invites all interested Rotarians to attend the following:
 
Wednesday January 30 – 9 – 9:30 a.m.  YMCA
Official welcome by community politicians and representatives at the Y.  After welcome students will be involved in Y activities.
 
Wednesday January 30 – Sleepover at the Central Peel S.S.
4 p.m.  and overnight    “24 Hours without Rotary” event at the school.  These is “Refugees in Crisis” a simulation to help youth learn about and reflect on the refugee crisis.  You can sleep over at the school and be part of this interactive game.
 
Sunday February 3.   12 – 12:45 – Discussion at CPSS with MP Ruby Sahota
Opportunity to learn what is impacting Nuxalt First Nation – e.g. Trans Mountain Pipeline, - Why Bramptonians should care.
 
Our club is partnering with Central Peel SS to sponsor the exchange between these two groups of students.  Thank you to all our club members for this.
