The Region of Peel is better able to help children with disabilities thanks to the support of Rotary, says Jennifer Alexander, a family resource worker with the Region of Peel.
Jennifer, who specialies in Peel case management, chronic disease and injury prevention says they are currently working with 380 families in the region but there are another 288 on a waiting list.

"We work with children with developmental disabilities - Autism, Down's Sydrome and low IQ - helping them and their families connect for specialized services. And we liaise with other agencies for families."

The ultimate goal is to make these children independent, so they are aware of services, where to find them and how to access them.
