Helping Guatemala

Bolton Rotary President Aldo Villanovich spoke to our club about a project in Guatemala to help the people secure clean water. Our club has contributed $5,000 towards a new building for chlorination and distribution as part of a matching grant application.
Until recently the situation has been dire, largely because of political turmoil. The water facility is four years old and the water contaminated. There is a need for a new chlorination building, a new distribution building and a lab to test water.
The Rotary Club of Guatemala, formed seven years ago, has been working to make a difference in the community developing a mosquito control program, a health and ear clinic and a prosthetics clinic - necessary after years of warfare in the country.
The water project is much needed and once again Rotary is making a difference.
