Peter VanSickle – Brampton Downtown Development Corporation (BDDC)

 Peter thanked the Rotary club for having him. Bramptonians have a dream for what the future should be – a living, working recreational place, nice and clean to raise a family. These are the dreams BDDC are trying to fulfill. We are a community, we evolve and we grow together as a whole when we work in unison. Peter shared a short video showing how Brampton was founded with Pioneer Spirit and the founders saw a promising future. The times have changed, technology is different. The root reasons for investing in Brampton Downtown are still the same. This inspiring video reminds us all of the great resources of Brampton Downtown and encourages us all to become involved.

-          Significant growth in single female professional women

-           Brampton downtown is safe

What can we do about the market to make it better? Hourly go train service is critical for Brampton. Brampton is positioned to take care of the mobility dreams we have. Residential is vital to downtown. Classic cars, Thursday night concerts and the Christmas market are traditions for Brampton for many years to come. Education – focus on small business courses. 92% from tax levy go back into marketing programs.
