Lindsay Whisen – Ease Up – The Organizing Experts

Our speaker Lindsay Whisen is married for ten years with two kids, a five- year- old daughter and a two- year- old son. She was a dental assistant which wasn’t the right fit, was also a high school teacher. Now she owns a professional organizing company. Lindsay lived with depression without knowing about it. After she was well, she realized that she became highly organized and had a desire to make people’s lives easier, hence Ease Up. Her company was nominated for the Spirit of Innovation Award, quite an honour to have been nominated.

Her first community initiative was organizing the Daily Bread and the second was with Camp Quality that provide services to children with cancer. The camp was special because you have a one-on-one relationship with the campers.

We want to experience wellness in our lives, especially organizational wellness as Lindsay believes it’s connected to our health.
Organization helps you optimize and make sure you are not wasting time, energy, money, space and belongings. The reasons why people hire professional organizers is because they come with optimism. You should organize like a pro by:

  • designating the area you are working on; sort like with like
  •  look at the duplicates, triplicates and ask yourself, do you love it, do you need it?
  • make sure items are in the correct room
  •  contain all items and label everything; group like things into high use; rate high, medium and low.
Lindsay ended her talk by expressing how great it is to be among business professionals who want to make the world a better place.
