Glenn Williams started doing tax returns part-time and seven years later he formed his own company Williams Financial Management. So how does one go from garbage to accounting?
In his classification talk, Glenn explained that he started a recycling company while he was still a scout in his hometown of Cobourg.

"We collected newspapers, paid ourselves a salary and gave the net proceeds to Scouts. Then we bought a bailer and started a recycling business."

"But we discovered that making money and having cash are two different things."

Following a university degree in science Glenn joined Peel Region Waste Management, where mostly he was involved in financial management. He worked and achieved a degree in commerce and moved to Miller Waste.

Working on the side doing tax returns he saw an opportunity to work with small business providing financial management services - bookeeping and tax support.

Glenn lives in Peel Village with his wife Linda and daughter Mary. He enjoys gardening, canoeing and camping.

Glenn is still active in Scouts as a leader and is also Treasurer of the Parkway School Council as well as Treasurer of our club.
