Brampton Downtown Flood Protection

The City and Toronto Region Conservation Authority is continuing an Environmental Assessment to establish a flood protection plan in the event of a major flood (like Hurricane Hazel).
Since Gage Park could be affected, I have been attending Community Liaison Committee meetings to provide feedback to the consultants.

If you are interested in future downtown development it is important to know what is being planned.  Without the flood protection plan, development cannot proceed so it is fundamental to all future planning.
Exciting plans for the Riverwalk are a key factor in future development of the downtown.  There is a public meeting at City Hall in the Atrium on May 30 from 4-6 pm, with a formal presentation of the suggested plan at 6:30 pm.
