ErinoakKids Update

 

Shane Burt thanked the Rotary Club of Brampton for welcoming him back and he is always excited to come out to these meetings. It’s an exciting time for ErinoakKids. The 121,000 sq. ft. site in Castlemore is scheduled to open May 2017.

 

In this new facility, a Snoezelen Room is being built. What is a Snoezelen Room? This room has a multi-sensory environment with relaxing spaces that help reduce agitation but it can also engage and delight the user, stimulate reactions and encourage communication. This is a 260 sq. ft. facility, a delightful room with fiber optic lights, music playing with a vibrating ball pool that is captivating for children and keep them engaged.  Also, parents can have time for themselves and their other children and give them the much deserved time they need.

 

The Rotary Club of Brampton has donated $55,000 to date and a further donation of $45,000 ($90,000 over five years) will get us a naming opportunity for the Snoezelen Room. RCB name would appear in all three donor sites in Brampton and Mississauga.
