Shane Burt

The Rotary Club of Brampton welcomes Shane Burt, Manager of Major Gifts, Erinoak Kids Centre. Shane has been living in Brampton for the past 20 years and he is a Registered Fundraiser Professional. Since 1998, the Rotary Club of Brampton has donated over $100,000 to Erinoak Kids Centre.

Erinoak Kids Centre was founded in 1971 by a group of engaged parents whose kids had disabilities. It is the largest of Ontario’s 20 community-based children’s treatment centres serving over 15,000 children with disabilities and their families every year.

The Centre supports children who have autism, development or physical disabilities, community disorders, hearing loss and deafness, low vision and blindness. In Spring 2017 Erinoak Kids will open a new Brampton/Caledon state-of-the-art facility with over 121 sq. ft. of treatment facilities, on 8 acres, a 26 bed respite facility (the largest in Ontario), warm water therapy and a therapy gym. Site is now 40% complete.

To date $8M has been raised toward the “In My Dreams Campaign”; their goal is $20M. The biggest thing is the Respite Facility, they need trained professionals who can take over from parents who undergo a lot of strain; their goal is to provide the families with the services they need. Every year they have over 400 volunteers and they are opening to more volunteers. If you have the passion, be a volunteer.
