John Sanderson introduced our Guest Speakers: Const. Feres Ismail, Const. John Adams and Det. Sgt. Doug Grozier. They told us about their work on the Drugs and Gangs Task Force.
(This was particularly timely as President-Elect Bob mentioned a potential upcoming rumble with the Brampton Kiwanis on Thursday. Now postponed.)
The speakers had some troubles with their computer so they passed out pictures of some of the matters they must deal with, including weapons, gang symbols and tattoos worn by gang members.

They identified 7 criteria used to identify gang members and said that most gang members join for the 3 "R's" – Respect, Recognition and Retribution, plus making fast drug-related money and the thrill of being identified as a gang member with the notoriety that the media awards such a membership.

They advised that there are now 54 members on the Street Crime Gang Unit in Peel. Peter Ward thanked the presenters for a very informative program.
