District Governor Mike

District Governor Mike Knell and his wife Marie visited our club at the last meeting and brought words of inspiration about the year ahead.
Governor Mike encouraged club members to join The Dream Team, an acronym for Dedicated Rotarians Enthusiastic and Motivated.
"Rather than being overwhelmed by the problems of our world, Rotarians rise to the challenges each new Rotary year with a renewed sense of mission. That's what keeps us young in our thinking, eager to help in any way we can, knowing that by taking on these challenges we've made this a fairer place to live."
Governor Mike's speech touched on club and district perparedness for the year ahead. Our theme this year - lend a hand- is "simple and elegant", he says.
"In our clubs we are asked to diversify our membership, focus on retention show concern for the well-being of all members and expand the "we care" concept into the family of Rotary.
In our vocation we are asked to "uphold high ethical standards and encourage others to do the same and to use professional knowledge and skill to help others in need."
In our communities we are asked to "help with lteracy, food, clothing and shelter."
And around the world we are to reach out to people of all cultures, races and religions through Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation."
Governor Mike challenged the club to "dare to dream" some more, to reach new heights in club, community and Rotary International.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world and never stop being a Rotarian."
