District Conference excellent
DISTRICT CONFERENCE was an excellent event with our club's best ever turnout. Unfortunately it was marred by a two-hour bomb scare at the Living Arts Center in Mississauga.
Nevertheless, all of the scheduled speakers got to speak, but some of the roundtables were cutback.
P.P Norm indicated that he learned at the conference of an Internet site entitled, Charity Navigator, which rates various Charities. The only four-star rating for a service club was given to Rotary International.
Norm gave us an update on the condition of Bob Palmateer. Apparently this Bolton Rotarian had some medical testing done, which appeared inconclusive. However a Rotarion friend, who was also a Cardiologist, reviewed his test records and got Bob admitted to hospital just in time before he suffered heart failure , thus proving the value of friends in Rotary.
