Several directors reported on club activities at last week's meeting.
Membership chair John Mullen said club membership was down slightly and he encouraged members to introduce Rotary to friends and associates. Sponsoring Rotarians will be eligible to win a Rotary jacket.
John said his committee will soon update our brochure and that he hopes to be able to communicate the value of Rotary in a series of articles in Trade Talks, the Brampton Board of Trade's monthly magazine.
Peter Ward reported that Brampton's four Rotary clubs had made a $500,000 commitment to a yet unnamed project to commemorate Rotary's Centennial in 2005.
He also said our club has committed to putting a float in the city's sesquicentennial parade on June 14.
Rob van Kessel reported the grants and awards committee has spent $60,000 on a variety of local and international projects.
President Jerome said he was very pleased with club activity this year.
The support of Knight's Table at Christmas and the ongoing committment to Easter Seals helps us "sow the seeds of love" in our community.
He is also pleased that the club has taken a leadership role in establishing a security clearance protocol for members. Already, half of the membership has registered.
